  • What is an air bubble sensor? 

Introduction

  •  
    The air bubble sensor is a sensor to detect bubbles and liquid outage inthe liquid sending tubing. It's for devices where bubbles and liquid outage are meant to be avoided such as medical and analytical equipment, etc.

    There are two main types of bubble sensors: optical and ultrasonic. Our bubble sensor is of ultrasonic type.

Mechanism of Air Bubble Sensors (Ultrasonic)

The piezoelectric transducer on one side will produce ultrasonic waves and send them through the tubing to the opposite piezoelectric transducer which will observe piezoelectric transducer which will observe the received signal strength continuously.

The conductivity of ultrasonic waves is different between liquid and bubbles. The ultrasonic waves will be transmitted well when there is only liquid in the tube, but when bubbles are passing, the ultrasonic waves will be blocked by the bubbles, and the received signal strength from ultrasonic waves will become weak. The ultrasonic bubble sensor makes the use of this relationship to detect bubbles.

3. This product comes standard with digital output (by setting the threshold voltage) and analog output.
 
  •  
    Ⅰ Analog output
    • Depending on the detected bubble size, the output voltage will decrease. The larger the bubble is, the more it decreases.
     
    Ⅱ Digital output
    • With the threshold voltage set according to the analog output voltage when the tubing is full of water,digital output will change from Hi to Low level when analog output voltage is less than the threshold voltage.
    • The threshold voltage can be set to 0.1 V, 0.2 V, 0.3 V, 0.4 V or 0.5 V.
 
4. Regarding to the tube size, electrical specs and shape, we can also consider custom outside the standard specifications according to your wishes.
